Well, lucky for you, we did our homework this week and unearthed the answer.

America's most likable daytime host has found herself in hot water this week.

Drew Barrymore, the host of the Drew Barrymore Show, ended her season in April, which most believed she did in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that started on May 2nd. However, this week it was announced that the show was coming back on Monday, Sept 18th without its writers.

Although talk shows fall under the Network Television Code contract and are compliant with the strike's guidelines, the return to air still hurts the strike's fight.

With that said, the return to air caused a major social media frenzy, and the strikers arrived on the streets outside of the show's taping to protest.

To make matters worse, The National Book Awards decided in solidarity with the strike that they were unbooking (pun intended) Barrymore from hosting this year's ceremony.
