Viola Davis at the Grammys

The Sunday before last was the Grammy’s (the music award show that also does Audiobook Awards apparently) and actress and author Viola Davis won a Grammy for her book, “Finding Me”.

With the Grammy win, Davis joined rare air as a EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) recipient.

She was only the 18th person ever to achieve this fleet!

We are back with another Black History Month spotlight and this week we are spotlighting a black publishing house for Children Books.

Young Authors Publishing focuses on sharing stories about Black and Brown children by Black and Brown children. Advocating for diverse literature, YAP offers programs that include writing mentorships as well as financial literacy workshops for young authors of color. The children’s and young adult publisher is Black-owned, run by a team of all Black women, and has a mission statement reflective in the work that’s produced: “We believe all kids are story-worthy.”

This company has an important missions and have produce tons of amazing books your little ones might enjoy!
